Mark your calendars! DryHome Roofing & Siding is excited to announce its sponsorship of the first annual Loudoun Lyme 5K.
The purpose of the event, scheduled for Sunday, May 15th, is to raise money to help find a cure for Lyme Disease which is the number one tick-borne illness in the United States. In fact, Loudoun County is home to the third largest number of Lyme cases in the nation with 22 percent of the state’s reported cases occurring in the county.
The Loudoun Lyme 5K will also feature a 1K family walk, children’s activities as well as an information fair to educate the public about Lyme Disease, its causes, symptoms and treatments.
Steve Gotschi, the owner of DryHome Roofing & Siding, came up with the concept of the Loudoun Lyme 5K after watching his wife and many other friends battle the disease. It is his hope that the funds generated by this event will broaden awareness of the disease, educate the public of its symptoms and help find a cure. Net proceeds will benefit the efforts of research and educational initiatives of a reputable, local non-profit dedicated to fighting Lyme.
